Solitaire for the Seasoned Veterans
Solitaire Duels is a new approach for entertaining those seasoned professionals of the web based solitaire games nowadays. More than just the regular task of classifying and sequencing of cards, two online players are matched up together to battle it out in terms of the overall speed of accomplishment and total score (influenced by the number of performed combos during play), making the game even more exciting and nerve wracking.
The game shares much of its key mechanics to the recent releases of solitaire games of present but specifically targets the aspect of the game in its peer to peer playability and social media transparency, forming altogether a neat new challenge for the battle hardened fans of the modern solitaire games.
Solitaire Duels employs most of the common mechanics seen in similar facebook game titles such as Solitaire in Wonderland or Pyramid Solitaire Saga. These mechanics includes the random manner of arrangement of the cards piled up on top of each other which focuses on a slightly different goal of clearing out the whole cluster instead of just obtaining specific target key cards. Another familiar feature is the boost provisions like that of the joker card which assumes any card value to generally help the players in sticky situations.
In this game however, a new feature is introduced to actively put up a trap on the cards of the losing player (such as choco bombs in the first level) which sets a temporary lock and access to available face up cards until the next card draw. There is also an on screen scoreboard from where players can monitor their performance and the score progress between the ongoing match.
The web based game is totally free to play but also promotes of a few lineup of in game boosters for those willing to drop some cash into it. This includes a power up chip that doubles up your points every move you perform to generate higher scores. Another game booster promotes protection over your blue chips which generally are the other set of currency used in the game. This booster will also provide additional 10 percent in earnings (instead of actually having to pay that 5 percent tip required every game) if the competing player wins the duel. These blue chips are basically used as the form of wager in every match. A fixed amount of chips shall be wagered against the two battling players before starting the duel which of course benefits the bouts winner with the chips of the losing competitor.
Solitaire Duels also provide a decent accompanying motif to the games package. The neat candy world theme proves to be very pleasing to the eyes and aesthetically provides a wonder to the overall gaming experience.
Summing it all up, the game leaves a bright new appeal to the usual flavor of modern solitaire games as it enhances the overall competitive gaming experience. Though the game may furnish a familiar style of game play that the other available titles have, the added factor of introducing a live competitor highly promotes a new blood pumping excitement to it. And though it may not provide the gleaming spectacle of high end visuals, it is relatively easy to pick up, highly enjoyable, and is social media integrated for those in need of achievement posts to brag about.
