Solitaire has been a staple game that goes way before the digital platform and is still being enjoyed by people of all ages around the globe. Nothing beats the Classic Solitaire but some want a little bit of flavor into what they are playing and spice things up a bit. So let us go out on an adventure and see which of the Solitaire variants that we present you like best.

1. Wasp Solitaire

Playing Wasp Solitaire is easy just as long as you understand its simple mechanics. The game is played alone but you can always be accompanied by someone to help you watch out for things and have some fun together. You are going to need a complete deck and distribute them among 7 columns, 4 are faced down while 3 are facing up. There will be three extra cards that you can put into play when you like but the goal is to arrange them with the same suit from the Ace to two, and down to the King.

2. King of Corners

This variation of Solitaire is a bit different as it is made to be played by more than one person. It starts by dealing each participant with 7 cards while laying the succeding 4 on the table facing up and the rest is put into a stockpile. Next is by taking turns, each one gets a chance to remove a card from their hand if it follows the alternating color and descending value rules of Solitaire. If you can’t then you take a card and whoever empties their hand first becomes the winner.

3. Octave

If you want to play a large-scale game of Solitaire then this one is for you. Instead of one deck, you get to use two with eight base piles of aces at the top, and below them are 3 cards, 2 faced down and 1 facing up. The rest are put in the stockpile and your goal is to complete each suit up to King. You only get 1 redeal and that is it.

4. Freecell Solitaire

The last one is played differently as all the cards are revealed in an eight-column set-up. You have 4 spaces that can hold a card at the bottom of each pile, while the other 4 are for the different suits with Ace as the starting piece. You can only move the last card on the column unless they are already linked by being on alternate colors in an ascending manner.

To end, these are just a few on our list of lesser-known Solitaire variants beyond Klondike. It’s an awesome take on the usual rules of the card game given a few extra tweaks to make it into an entirely new setting. You can play them using actual cards but there are some that you can enjoy online without the hassle of buying or having a deck on hand.
