Solitaire is one that’s provided many highly addictive and distinct games over the years and in this article we’ll be covering the basics in their usual types and renditions, and figure out what makes them so addictive and enjoyable.

There are many factors that go into determining the kind of solitaire game. First off is of course the gameplay. Some games have a relatively slow pace and their laidback nature of gameplay makes them a good fit for the casual audience. On the other hand, there are many games that provide fast paced gameplay that’s either against the clock or against a live player and these are catered towards a more competitive audience.

The first type of solitaire game is one that has existed for over a decade and this type is commonly referred to as Klondike. In the Klondike style solitaire games, players must stack together cards starting from the ace all the way up to the king and there must be four stacks in total, one of each suit.

The great thing about this type of solitaire is that it can be enjoyed by all audiences whether casual or competitive because most games that come of this style often have an option for fast paced player vs player gameplay but at the same time they also have a simple mode where players can take all the time they want to stack up the cards.

The second type of solitaire game is the more common modern kind which doesn’t really have a name designated for it. In games based on this type, players are given a highlighted card in the middle of the playing area which is surrounded by a layout of many other cards.

The objective is to clear all the cards of the playing area by clicking ones that are either one above or one below the card that’s currently highlighted on the middle. This process must be repeated until the entire level is cleared and points are given based on how fast the clear was.

The third style of solitaire is one that’s gained a bit more traction as of recently, in the solitaire games that are built upon the concepts of this style, players must play a mahjong style game where the objective is to combine similar cards with each other until the entire playing area is cleared.

The fun part about this kind of solitaire is that the games often come with a whole lot of power-ups that can be utilized during levels and they add a lot of extra depth to the gameplay while of course making it a whole lot more enjoyable as well.

All things considered, it’s fair to say that no matter what the type of game is, the solitaire genre always has and probably always will manage to provide players with some really fun games that are catered towards multiple different audiences. We definitely recommend trying these games out as they’re capable of providing hours upon hours of entertainment.
